Jakarta, June 23, 2025 – In commemoration of International Fire Fighters Day, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) successfully held a live streaming event titled “HOTMIC International Fire Fighters Days 2025” via Microsoft Teams. The event reached participants from various Pertamina operational areas across Indonesia and served as a vital moment to recognize the critical role of firefighters in the energy industry. Hosted by two professional presenters, the event featured two keynote speakers: Mr. Wenny Ipmawan – VP of HSSE at Pertamina KPI, and Mr. Eko Sugiarto – Gas Detector Expert. Both speakers shared strategic insights and real-world experiences relevant to the current challenges and dynamics of industrial firefighting. In the first session, Mr. Wenny Ipmawan discussed “The Strategic Role of Firefighters in Supporting Business Continuity”. He emphasized the importance of preparedness and firefighting systems as the first line of defense in ensuring uninterrupted operations of refineries and energy facilities. “Firefighters are not just the last responders during incidents, but an integral part of the risk mitigation system that ensures smooth and continuous business operations,” he stated. The second session was delivered by Mr. Eko Sugiarto, who presented on “Fire Hazards and Gas Leak Mitigation”. He explained the various types of fire risks commonly encountered in refinery environments and how gas detection technology, combined with emergency response procedures, plays a key role in preventing major incidents. This session expanded the participants’ awareness of the importance of integrating technology, conducting regular training, and fostering a collective awareness of workplace hazards. The event was highly interactive, with a dynamic Q&A session and active participation from attendees across multiple Pertamina operational units. Beyond being a technical forum, HOTMIC International Fire Fighters Days 2025 served as a moment of appreciation and tribute to all firefighters who stand at the frontline of safety and protection.
